DETROIT (WXYZ) - A nationwide adult dating or escort service, one of the offerings on a website known as www.backpage.com, is the primary link between three of the four murdered women found in the trunks of burning cars on Detroit’s east side this month.
Photo profiles of the 23 and 24-year-old women discovered December 19th in the trunk of a 2009 Chrysler 300 have been identified, as have the 28 and 29-year-old women who met a similar fate just four blocks away in the 14900 block of Lannette.
Their bodies were discovered around one o’clock in the morning Christmas Day by Detroit firefighters called to the scene to put out a burning vehicle.
Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee said “the relatives of the victims were devastated, and we in the city are shocked and disturbed by this.”
He said the relatives of the women have all been notified.
Now investigators must determine how the four spent their final hours and with whom. Only three of the four had offered escort services on the website
