How should Detroit spend its money? Residents can weigh in at public budget forum

DETROIT (WXYZ) - It's well-known that Detroit is in the middle of a cash crisis. Tuesday night, city leaders are asking residents for their input on the budget.

The City of Detroit Budget Department is offering Detroiters the opportunity to provide their comments at a public budget forum.

The forum is being held at the Northwest Activities Center, 18100 Meyers, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Representatives from several departments will be on hand including: Public Works, Fire, Health, Police, Public Lighting, Recreation, and Water & Sewerage.

Citizens will also be asked to complete a survey. It can be filled out online at www.detroitmi.gov .
