(WXYZ) - In a reversal of an earlier decision, Judge David Groner's court has released the contract for Kwame Kilpatrick's upcoming book.
The contract for "Surrendered: The Rise, Fall & Revelation of Kwame Kilpatrick" calls for fifty percent of the gross receipts from sales of the book to go to Akiton Enterprises. The other half goes to the publisher, Creative Publishing Consultants.
During a court hearing earlier this month, Groner ruled that proceeds from the book must now be used to pay Kilpatrick's restitution. The former Mayor still owes the city of Detroit around $860,000.
Akiton Enterprises is a company formed by Ayanna Kilpatrick Ferguson, Kwame Kilpatrick's sister. The contract is signed by Ayanna Kilpatrick Ferguson.
"Surrendered: The Rise, Fall & Revelation of Kwame Kilpatrick" is selling for $26.95 online on a preorder basis. It will begin shipping after July 25.
