DETROIT (WXYZ) - During a Pretrial Conference held Wednesday, a federal judge set a trial date for former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, Bobby Ferguson, Bernard Kilpatrick, Victor Mercado and Derrick Miller.
The men will go on trial September 6, 2012. They are charged with bribery and corruption in relation to the long running federal probe of Detroit's city hall.
The five men were indicted in December on multiple charges by federal prosecutors as part of a 38 count indictment. Federal prosecutors say they ran a criminal enterprise out of the mayor's office.
Kilpatrick is currently serving a state prison sentence as part of a probation violation. The other defendants are free on bond.
