DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) - Only 7 Action News cameras were in 36th District Court Thursday afternoon when Brandon Cain, the main suspect in the kidnapping of two Hamtramck women, appeared before a magistrate.
Cain was arraigned on charges stemming from the February 7 shooting on Glastonbury street that injured Ashley Conaway, 21.
Late Tuesday night, Cain and another man allegedly abducted Ashley and her best friend Abreeya Brown, 18, after the two women refused a bribe to not testify in the shooting case from three weeks ago.
Police have still not located Ashley and Abreeya.
While Cain has not been charged in the kidnapping case, he was arraigned on the outstanding charges stemming from the shooting.
Magistrate Sidney Barthwell, Jr. called the allegations against Cain "extremely heinous." He then set Cain's bond at $500,000.
