DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says a 39-year-old man has been charged in the killing of a Detroit cab driver.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy says William M. Heard will be arraigned Thursday afternoon on chargers of open murder, assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, carjacking and felony firearm.
It's alleged Heard carjacked, shot and killed 48-year-old Tyrone Hitchcock in the early morning hours of Jan. 3. It happened in front of a home in the 19300 block of Sunderland. A 46-year-old female passenger was also wounded in the incident.
Last week, Police told 7 Action News the shooter was also a passenger in the cab, who became angry after an argument.
Heard is expected to be arraigned Thursday at 1 p.m. in 36th District Court.
