(WXYZ) - The medical examiner says the man who was rescued from the Detroit River Monday has died.
The Coast Guard pulled the victim from an area of the river near the tip of Belle Isle.
He was unresponsive at the time of rescue and was taken to a local hospital
There have been no reports on the official cause of death or why the victim was in the river.
The Coast Guard says exposure to frigid water can cause death in minutes. The Detroit River is in the mid thirty degrees this time of year.
