DETROIT (WXYZ) - About four dozen Metro Detroit students received quite an honor Wednesday morning. They became junior FBI special agents!
The ceremony took place at Oakland International Academy. The fourth through eighth graders learned about everything from investigative techniques to staying healthy. It's all part of the FBI’s Community Outreach program.
Conrad Koch, Dean of Students at Oakwood Academy says the students were honored to be a part of this special program.
"All learning doesn't always happen in the classroom," says Koch. "This was an extra experience for our students to have so that they could gain some practical experience to see what life would be like if they chose to have a career in law enforcement."
The six to eight week long program takes place in schools throughout Metro Detroit and also stresses character development.
