SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Some drivers were shocked to gas stations with signs for $3.89 for a gallon of regular gas.
According to experts, prices could continue to creep up. They say it can be blamed on the price increase for crude oil.
There is also the perception the economy is doing well worldwide - which may play a role.
It is suspected maintenance work at oil refineries is also a factor.
Some experts think it is a little too early in the year to see the cost of gas as high as we’ve seen recently.
They predict there will be some pull back in prices very soon, but they also expect gas prices to be on the higher side for a while.
