DETROIT (WXYZ) - The mother of 17-month-old Zyia Turner collapsed just as funeral services for the toddler were ending at Christ Resurrection Missionary Baptist Church Monday.
Erica James was treated by EMS workers. Her condition is unknown.
On June 29th, relatives reported Zyia missing from her grandmother's east side home. Detroit Police spent hours searching the neighborhood for the child.
Early the next day, a cadaver dog led police to the toddler's body under a pile of clothes in a closet of the house .
The Wayne County Medical Examiner has not yet determined what caused Zyia's death.
Toxicology tests are pending.
