DETROIT (WXYZ) - Snow is in the forecast and it couldn't come at a better time.

The Motown Winter Blast kicks off Friday for some snow-fueled fun at Campus Martius Park.

It will include a weekend of ice skating, ice sculptures, snowshoeing, entertainment and much more in Downtown Detroit.

There is a charge to get into Winter Blast. Visitors are required to donate a canned food item, book or $1 to gain entrance.

Friday, February 10th, 11am-11pm

Saturday, February 11th, 11am-11pm

Sunday, February 12th, 11am-9pm

Pez Espada a la Marinera

(Fisherman’s-Style Swordfish)

1-8 oz swordfish steak

3 T olive oil

½ onion, chopped

½ green pepper, chopped

½ yellow pepper, chopped

½ red pepper, chopped

1 t chopped garlic

1 tomato, diced

1 bay leaf

Salt and pepper to taste

1 t chopped parsley

3 oz white wine

 

Method:

Sprinkle the fish with salt and pepper leave to stand for 15 minutes.  In a pan large enough to hold the fish, heat the oil and add the fish and sautéed on each side.  Add all peppers, onions, garlic, tomatoes and bay leaf and continue to cook for 3 minutes.  Add the wine and parsley.  Cook for 5 minutes and served over Jasmine rice.
