DETROIT (WXYZ) - Police say an off-duty Department of Homeland Security officer was shot early Monday morning on Detroit's west side.
It happened in Detroit on Greenview and Fenkell when the officer saw suspicious activity at a home on the 1500 block of Greenview.
When the DHS officer confronted the suspect, a shootout occurred and the officer was hit.
He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
