DETROIT, Mich (wxyz) - Detroit City Councilman Kwame Kenyatta says he wants Mayor Bing out of office.

Kenyatta made the statement at the council table after finding out the Mayor did not respond to a second email sent to the mayor by the council president asking for some information. Kenyatta and some other council members say that is a common problem.

While there was no resolution or further discussion on what Kenyatta said, there was some verbal support about wanting the mayor to answer all of their requests.

Councilman James Tate says, "I've been disappointed at times by the Mayor's failure to answer emails, but it is not personal."

He says the two branches of government need to respect each other and talk together about the needs of the city.

Tate says until that happens there could be some chaos, confusion and friction.

The mayor's office said it had "no comment" to council member's complaining about the reported lack of communication from the Mayor's office or Councilman Kenyatta's request for removal procedures.
