DETROIT, Mich. - Federal authorities have arrested and charged a parolee in connection with the stolen U-Haul that was being used for Vice President Joe Biden's visit on Labor Day.
Charles Rumbley has been charged with theft of government property in federal court. Rumbley has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1985.
Rumbley has had numerous arrests for assault, assault with intent to murder, arson, larceny, burglary, weapons offenses and auto theft.
He had been released on parole in March of 2012.
The criminal complaint against Rumbley says that the contents of the U-Haul were valued at approximately $150,000.
Rumbley is scheduled to be in federal court this afternoon for a detention hearing.
