DETROIT (WXYZ) - The start of high school football season Friday night also brought a solemn remembrance.
Family and friends held a peace walk in honor of a star player at Osborn High School who was murdered.
Someone shot Allante Powell to death on Detroit’s west side one year ago.
Police have yet to find his killer.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 dollars for information that could solve the case.
Allante's mom led the walk to draw attention to senseless violence.
She says it's a way to use her pain in a positive way.
