DETROIT (WXYZ) - Questions are being asked about phony eviction notices that were taped on homes and handed out in the Del Ray area of Southwest Detroit.
That area is near the proposed location for the new and controversial Detroit to Windsor bridge.
The notices said MDOT would take the homes and the property would be a gift to the new bridge construction project. The flyers reportedly came from a group called American's for Prosperity Michigan.
No one answered when Action News called the number on the website.
People were upset and angry about the flyers. State Representative Rashida Tlaib said she believes the owner of the Ambassador Bridge, Matty Moroun could in some way be connected to the scam. She says this should be investigated.
A spokesperson for the Ambassador Bridge Company said "no,' they had absolutely nothing to do with the flyers.
