DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police said Friday morning that they were still looking for the person who shot a 2-year-old boy.

It happened on the city's east side Thursday night.

Sources tell 7 Action News the baby was shot while riding in a car on Lillibridge near Canfield. The 2-year-old's mother then drove to the Fairview Manor Apartments and called for help, according to police.

The child was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.  Fortunately, police say doctors were able to treat him, and he is now in stable condition.

Anyone with information that could help police find the shooter is asked to call in a tip.  Tips can be anonymously left with Crimestoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
