DETROIT (WXYZ) - A 19-year-old man has died after setting himself on fire in front of his family.
Detroit Police, firefighters and arson investigators responded to the home after reports that the man was on fire.
The incident happened at a home on St. Aubin and Nevada in Detroit. Police say the 19-year-old had an argument with his sister over cereal.
The man's mother stepped in to take the sister's side. Investigators say that's when the man went downstairs, doused himself in lighter fluid and came back upstairs.
He apparently lit himself on fire by the stove in front of his siblings.
Relatives performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The man was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital where he died.
The man had no known mental issues, but did have a physical disability.
