(WXYZ) - A vigil will be held Friday night  for the victim of a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday inside a home on Detroit's east side.

Police say the shooting happened on Anglin Street just north of 7 Mile near Conant.

Family members say the victim is a promising young man named Jalon Canty.

He is an 18-year-old, one day shy of his 19th birthday.  He just recently became a father.

They say he was not the kind of person to be involved in trouble, and they are shocked he would become the victim of violence.

Police questioned witnesses at the scene, but so far no one has been arrested in connection with the murder.
