DETROIT (WXYZ) - An early morning on shooting on Detroit's east side leaves one man dead, 2 others wounded and police searching for a shooter.
It happened just before two Monday morning. Hours later, the reminisces of the party that took place inside and outside Maitais bar are still present in the paring lot. Bullet casings, empty cups and clothes are still on the ground. As chaotic as this scene appears, it's nothing compared to what happened inside.
“My son, Randolph Miggins was killed inside this club, Maitais about 1:30-1:40 tonight. ”
Janice Miggins says her son who grew up in Detroit but moved to Pittsburgh was in town to celebrate Father's Day with his family. Late Sunday night he decided to go to Maitais. Unfortunately she would never see him alive again.
After some sort of altercation between two groups of men shots were fired. In all Three people were hit; a man and a woman who are expected to recover and 30-year-old Randolph Miggins, who was shot at least twice and died right in the doorway. Janice received the unfortunate news while she was at work.
“The person who did this to my son, I wish you'd please turn yourself in. I know you're feeling guilty and sad right now because you've got me feeling indescribable. ”
As Janice tries to wrap her mind around this unbelievable tragedy she is comforted by friends, but no amount of support can bring back a life snatched away in it's prime.
