Police investigating the murder of 27-year-old man on Detroit's west side

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Crime Scene Investigators searched for evidence inside a house on the 1600 block of Washburn, on Detroit’s west side Wednesday.

According to police, a man walked into the house and started firing shots around 5 a.m.

A 27-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were hit by bullets. The man died at the scene.

Police say another woman arrived at the scene around 9:00 a.m. searching for her 11-year-old grandson.  He was in the home but he was not harmed.

Police are looking for a 27-year-old suspect. Officers told 7 Action News he left the scene after the shooting.

The injured woman is in temporary serious condition.

This case is still under investigation.  Police have been out in the area looking for witnesses.
