DETROIT (WXYZ) - A large water main break has police concerned about a sink hole on the city's east side.

According to Detroit Police there's a large water main break on Harper and Manistique Avenues on the city's east side.

Officers on the scene say it's flooding both sides of the street and they fear a sink hole may be developing because of the rushing water.

Detroit Water Sewerage Department repair crews are being requested.

There are no reports on whether or not the water main break will affect traffic.

Police say the leak will be fixed today and it is now safe for traffic.
