DETROIT (WXYZ) - People living at the Warren West Apartment complex are happy they finally received their mail.
The post office stopped delivering to the approximately 100 residents at the Warren West complex last week because of bed bugs in the building.
However, two residents who spoke with Action News reporter Bill Spencer say they haven't seen any of the pests and are angry about the decision.
Katherine Jackson has lived in the building for about a year. She says"It's very wrong because it's old people here and they need their mail and for that thing to happen like that. There's bed bugs all over the world and for somebody to stop bringing their mail, it's wrong.
Kevin Scott says "I don't understand why it's got to be that because I been living here seven months and the building been okay to me. I like the building."
Because of the delivery stoppage, residents had to walk about two miles to get their mail at the post office. That's tough for many of the residents because they are in the 80s and 90s and many of them are in wheelchairs.
Action News was unable to contact the management company for Warren West about the situation.
