DETROIT (WXYZ) - Loved ones of 21-year-old Ninoshka Nieves-Figueroa are hoping someone can help Detroit Police find the young mother's killer.
7 Action News has learned that Ninoshka checked into the Corktown Inn in southwest Detroit on Wednesday.
Friday morning, around 10:00 a.m., Ninoshka was found shot to death in her first floor hotel room.
Police are now looking to question a man who is seen on hotel surveillance video and observed looking for the victim's room. Minutes after Ninoshka is fatally shot, the same man was spotted running from the hotel, jumping over a fence and driving away in a Cadillac DTS.
It seems Ninoshka led a secret life. Relatives believed she earned money by doing hair and makeup for people in their homes, but Action News has learned that she also advertised online as an escort.
Homicide investigators are now trying to find out if Ninoshka's high-risk line of work may have had something to do with her murder.
Anyone with information on the man who is being called a "person of interest" is asked to call Detroit Police Homicide at (313) 596-2260.
Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587); go online to www.1800speakup.org; or text CSM along with any tip information to CRIMES (274637).
