DETROIT (WXYZ) - Police are investigating a shooting just outside of the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.
A spokeswoman for Detroit Police says the shots rang out after an argument between a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old. The 16-year-old allegedly fired the shots. Witnesses tell Action News they heard three shots.
The 18-year-old was hit in the shoulder - he is expected to recover. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
According to witnesses the shots went off on the riverfront, just below the complex at around 9 p.m. Sunday evening. We're told the area was packed with people enjoying the warm weather along the river.
One woman who saw the chaos tells Action News she saw the victim run by her.
Police taped off the back area of the Ren Cen facing the river during the investigation. According to preliminary reports the victim walked into the building leaving a trail of blood.
