(WXYZ) - The Coast Guard tells 7 Action that lubricating oil from U.S. Steel has spilled into the Detroit River near Mud Island in Ecorse.

Ten to 20 gallons of the oil was flushed out into the river. You can see the substance in the water from Chopper 7.

U.S. Steel has sent a cleanup company to vacuum the oil from the surface.

The Coast Guard is monitoring the situation.
