DETROIT (WXYZ) - Police are investigating a suspicious residential fire on the city’s west side that evacuated several people from their homes.
The fire broke out on Fullerton near Lawton in an abandoned building and quickly spread to the two adjacent buildings, one which was occupied.
Three units were damaged and several people were displaced.
DTE responded to the scene after a gas leak re-ignited the flames.
The Red Cross also responded to aid the displaced residents. Many of them said they left with just the clothes on their back.
