DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Wayne County Medical Examiner confirms the shooting death of a 36-year-old woman in Detroit. Her 14-year-old son is in custody.
The victim, Tamiko Robinson was shot multiple times. Robinson was found on the floor of a home located on the 5700 block of Burns near Gratiot with a shotgun wound.
Police say Robinson was shot and killed while sleeping on the living room couch. Investigators say the teen broke into a locked gun cabinet, loaded the shotgun and then shot his mother.
Reports indicate Robinson's boyfriend called police after hearing a verbal altercation on the first floor.
The 14-year-old suspect and victim's son, ran from the scene but was later arrested by police. He is being held pending charges.
