(WXYZ) - Thank you to everyone who donated to our Together We Can food drive . Today, canned goods that were dropped off with our partner Art Van Furniture were taken to Gleaners.

Over the past four weeks, 50,000 to 60,000 food items were taken to Art Van stores by people throughout metro Detroit.

Thank you for your donations!

Thursday, a pair of semi trucks from the furniture retailer delivered those donations to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan where they will be sorted and then distributed.

"Every little bit helps," said Gleaners President Dewayne Wells.

As part of the Together We Can effort, thousands of additional cans of food are still on display at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills. Those will also be transported to Gleaners and then distributed to those in need.
