DETROIT (WXYZ) - Close to 24,000 runners, walkers, and wheel chair athletes spent their Sunday morning taking part in the 35th annual Detroit Free Press/Talmer bank Marathon.
The event attracted people from all 50 states and 16 countries.
It will start at 6:58 a.m. The first runner finished the marathon just before 9:30 a.m. He has been identified as a man from Russia.
According to organizers the event showcases the best Detroit and the region has to offer.
