DETROIT (WXYZ) - Police in Detroit believe the same man is responsible for at least seven rapes since the first of January.

All of the victims have been African-American females ranging in age from 17 to 33. Except for one Clinton Township resident, all of the victims were from Detroit.

There have been at least seven rapes, plus one unsuccessful attempted assault. Below is a list Action News has compiled that includes where and when these incidents have occurred, plus the age of the victim.

  • January 1-- 5:54 a.m. Attempted Assault: 19100 block of Conant. 19-year-old victim was able to get away.
  • January 1-- 6:15 a.m. (about 20 minutes later) CSC 1st degree: 14200 block of Gratiot; 17-year-old victim
  • January 4-- 3:45 a.m. CSC 1st degree: 13900 block of Gratiot; 26-year-old victim
  • January 5-- 10:30 p.m. CSC 1st degree: 14000 block of Hazelridge; 19-year-old victim
  • January 6-- 11:00 p.m. CSC 1st degree: 18000 block of Schoenherr; 18-year-old victim
  • January 8-- 4:30 a.m. CSC 1st degree: 9000 block of Cadieux; 20-year-old victim
  • January 10-- 7:40 p.m. CSC 1st degree: 18800 block of Charleston; 17-year-old victim
  • January 14-- 2:40 a.m. CSC 1st degree: 9400 Beaconsfield; 33-year-old victim

All of the victims were either waiting at or walking from a bus stop, except for one whose vehicle was bumped by the suspect's vehicle and then sexually assaulted.
