DETROIT (WXYZ) - Two hearings are scheduled on Detroit's bankruptcy this week; one tomorrow morning and another Wednesday.
Over the weekend, the city of Detroit filed a legal response to challenges the claim the city cannot file bankruptcy.
In the court filing, the city says it's financial distress is so deep, at an estimated $18 billion that dealing with its 100,000 creditors, retirees and others outside of bankruptcy court would be next to impossible.
