DUNCANVILLE, Texas (WXYZ) - A recent video posted to YouTube may explain why Carlita Kilpatrick was fired from her city job in Texas.
The video appears to show cash improperly stored in Carlita Kilpatrick's office drawer.
In the video, posted by user "Detroit Detective," Duncanville officials are apparently conducting a cash audit of Detroit's former first lady's office.
Action News first reported in July that Kilpatrick had been fired from her city job in Texas where she was earning about $41,0000 annually.
The video shows city officials finding a cash box in Kilpatrick's work drawer. She is heard saying the money is from overages. An official tells her it is against policy to not report the discrepancy, but it is not a criminal offense.
In a statement to Action News, Duncanville Public Information Officer Claudia Garibay said, "Kilpatrick was terminated because she did not follow City Policy to report and deposit city assets. The search was conducted by the Finance Dept."
