DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office received a warrant request from the Detroit Police Department in connection with the disappearance of Bianca Jones.

Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee issued a statement that, in part, reads "The Detroit Police Department has submitted a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office regarding the Bianca Jones investigation.  The investigation is still ongoing and as such the Detroit Police has no further comment relative to the warrant submission or the investigation."

The prosecutor's office says the request is being reviewed but a decision will not be made this week.

Bianca went missing on December 2 when her father, D'Andre Lane says she was in his vehicle when he was carjacked at gunpoint.

While authorities have not released who the warrant request was issued for, law enforcement has said that they do not believe D'Andre Lane's story. They also say Bianca's mom, Banika Jones, is not under any suspicion.

Early on in the investigation, sources revealed to Action News that Lane failed a polygraph though Lane's lawyer says they have always been willing to cooperate.

Monday, cadaver dogs made two positive hits in the investigation into Bianca's disappearance

Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee released the following statement:

"As was indicated in an earlier release, the Detroit Police Department has submitted a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office regarding the Bianca Jones investigation.  The investigation is still ongoing and as such the Detroit Police has no further comment relative to the warrant submission or the investigation."
