(WXYZ) - A Fowlerville man accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to an 11-year-old girl has been arraigned on felony charges.
Twenty-nine-year-old Matthew Lewis has been charged with child abuse commercial activity, accosting a child for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit both crimes.
Michigan State Police report the child’s parents said Colston sent their daughter over 500 explicit photographs, including some that showed his genitals.
The parents said they discovered the photos and messages by using a cell phone app they installed on their daughter’s phone. The parents became concerned when their daughter started receiving Colston’s midnight messages on most nights.
The investigation has been underway since late May.
Currently, Colston is being held on a $ 500,000 bond. He is due back in court next week for a preliminary exam conference.
