Michigan State Police confirm I-96 incident as road rage, not shooting

BRIGHTON, Mich., (WXYZ) - Michigan State Police confirm an incident of road rage on I-96 Wednesday morning is not linked to recent shootings.

Livingston Sheriff's office responded to a new report of a possible I-96 shooting Wednesday morning at the Marathon station located at the Grand River and I-96 exit in Brighton.

The incident reportedly happened around 6:15 a.m. Michigan State Police later confirmed the incident as a case of road rage and not a shooting.

No further details have been confirmed at this time.

Since October 16 there have been 24 reported shootings along I-96 from Wixom to Ingham County.
