CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - Celebrity bras were auctioned off at the McLaren Macomb Healthcare Foundation ’s BRAvo event to help raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

"We had more than 800 people turn out," said Elsa Silverman, Director of the Mclaren Macomb Healthcare Foundation. "We're still adding up the numbers, but it looks like we raised close to $130,000.00!"

The "Mardi Bra: Unmasking Breast Cancer" fundraiser was held October 10 at the Mirage Banquet Hall in Clinton Township.

The show-stopper was a diamond encrusted bra that came with two body guards.  It can still be yours for $1-Million.

The bra Kid Rock autographed went for around $5,000 in the auction.

Other celebrity-signed bras included ones from Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Taylor Swift.

WXYZ Action News This Morning anchor Alicia Smith signed a hot-pink, feathered bra for the event.

“It was really an honor to be invited to take part in this.  It’s a great cause,” said Smith.

Proceeds raised at the event fund the BRAvo for Women: Free Mammogram Program at Macomb County's Ted B. Wahby Cancer Center.

More than 40,000 women die from breast cancer each year in the U.S.  Experts say early detection and breast cancer education can help lower that number.

The McLaren Macomb Breast Center and the Ted B. Wahby Cancer Center hosted the event.

BRAvo is an annual fundraiser that provides a fun and creative way for people and businesses to show their support for breast cancer survivors.
