WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) - Warren police responded to a HAZMAT situation where they needed to knock down a doorwall to free an obese woman from her own apartment.

Police tell 7 Action News were called out to an apartment complex located at 12 Mile and Gloede.

The woman was reportedly covered in waste and bugs which made it a hazardous situation for responding emergency crews.

7 Action News has learned the woman weighs between 500 and 700 pounds and had broken her hip a couple of years ago.

She was laying in her own waste and was covered in bedsores. The woman was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Child Protective Services was called out to the scene to check on her children. The woman is married and the couple have four children, two toddlers and two school-age children.
