(WXYZ) - His trial was set to start Tuesday, but instead former Detroit Lions player Tommie Boyd entered a guilty plea moving the case forward to sentencing.
Boyd pleaded guilty to one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct. There were also three other charges, including accosting a child for immoral purposes, but those were dropped.
A teenager says Boyd groped her and made inappropriate comments. He was a track coach for Fraser High school at the time. She also claims he promised to pay her $5,000 if she would have sex with him. But when he didn't pay up following the act, she blew the whistle.
Boyd's sentencing has been set for February 22nd.
