MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Tom Gray is a father of three who wants to make science, technology, engineering and math fun for kids to learn. That's also why he wants to see a hands-on museum for children open up in Macomb County.

Gray, who works as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch, is eager to see The Macomb Children's Hands-On Museum project become a reality by 2014. He and other organizers are currently studying a variety of elements including operating costs and the number of people who might visit the museum during the course of a year.

Monika Rittner, a colleague of Gray's at Merrill Lynch who is also working on the hands-on museum project says, "Here in Macomb County we don't necessarily have a place where the children can go to have experiences with science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This is one of those things we want to rectify".

A site has not been selected but several possible locations, including one in the heart of downtown Mt. Clemens, are being considered.

Gray is hopeful that a hands-on museum could be open by 2014.
