MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) - A Mount Clemens church sign has been the subject of racially charged graffiti.
It happened at the Divine Restoration Ministries at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Someone spray painted
Bishop-Elect James Richard Evans, Sr. tells 7 Action News that he believes the graffiti was done because of the election. The church was used as a polling place in the past.
The church became aware of the graffiti after someone who said they were disgusted by it posted a picture on the online photo sharing service Instagram.
The incident has upset city leaders in Mount Clemens. They say the church is a good neighbor in their community.
The mayor and city commissioners plan to attend a community meeting about the incident. It will be held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the church.
