HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Macomb County Sheriff's Department is investigating an early morning accident on Metropolitan Parkway near the I-94 overpass that left one person injured.

Police say a 21-year-old woman from Mt. Clemens was driving westbound in a 2003 Chevy Blazer at around 1:40 a.m. on January 2 when she saw something lying in the road.

She immediately called 911.

The man has been identified at 20-year-old Luke Thomas Lemons of Macomb Township. He is currently being treated at McLaren Hospital. It is not clear at this time why he was lying in the road.

The investigation is ongoing.
