CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich., (WXYZ) - A gas station clerk was shot four times overnight in Macomb County.

It happened on Harper near Metro Parkway in Clinton Township when a man walked into the Mobile station around 2:00 a.m. Reports indicate the suspect didn't say anything, just raised a gun and shot the clerk.

The shooter then attempted to open the register but was unable to do so and left empty handed.

The clerk was discovered by a customer who called 9-1-1. The clerk was taken to the hospital where he is said to be in serious condition.

He has been identified as Farooq Khan.

Police have surveillance video of the shooting but so far there have been no arrests. The gunman was wearing as mask so police are asking for help from the public.

If you have any information you are urged to contact the Clinton Township Police Department.
