EASTPOINTE (WXYZ) - Police have a suspect in custody after a popular Eastpointe business owner is shot dead in her own home.

Investigators won’t release a name until the arraignment, but Action News has learned the victim’s husband turned himself into police Sunday morning and hasn’t been released since.

Detectives found the body of Christina Lazzano-Webster in her upstairs bedroom at her house in the 23-thousand block of David Saturday afternoon.

Police say Lazzano-Webster’s son tried to get a hold of her by phone Friday night, but she was unreachable.

The next day, an attorney contacted police saying they should do a welfare check at the house. That afternoon, officers made their way in through an unlocked side door before making a gruesome discovery.

Christina was dead from a single gunshot wound to the chest. A gun was found in the front yard, but her SUV was missing, and so was her husband, Anthony Webster. Police say he turned himself in Sunday morning accompanied by an attorney. Webster has not been released since.

The couple owned Big Top Popcorn, and Christina was known to be very active in the community.

A source close to the investigation says the couple did not have a history of domestic violence, but “they did have their share of ups and downs.”

Investigators continue to look for the missing SUV, which is a white 2000 Lexus RX 300 with white trim on the lower body. The license plate is CHA 5821. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

In the meantime, investigators are forwarding the case against this unnamed suspect to the prosecutor’s office. Charges are expected to be filed Tuesday, and an arraignment could happen at the 38 th District Court in Eastpointe later that afternoon.
