SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich (WXYZ) - He didn't want his face shown, name used, or even the real sound of his voice played, but a man walked into the Shell station at 25 mile and Van Dyke to tell the workers that a winning Fantsy 5 ticket would not be turned in.
"It was thrown in the trash by accident," said the man who claims to know the winner 1st hand.
12-25-27-37-39 were the winning numbers on the Fantasy 5 ticket sold a year ago. Those numbers would have brought the man who picked them $213,745.
The one year time limit to turn the ticket in ran out Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Now the money will be deposited into the Michigan School Aid Fund.
