FRASER (WXYZ) - Two firefighters were taken to the hospital battling a fire at the Flamingo Motel in Fraser. They are being treated for smoke inhalation.
Authorities say it began around 1:30 a.m. at the Groesbeck Highway motel and firefighters are still on the scene.
The Flamingo Motel was built in the 60's and without fire stops in the building. Firefighters say it's the reason why the fire spread so quickly.
Overnight guests are calling the manager a hero after he went door to door to ensure everyone evacuated safely.
The cause of the fire is still unknown but the manager is speculating it may be electrical.
