WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) -
A renter called police Sunday after catching a whiff of an overwhelming smell at American’s Best Value motel in Warren.
It was reported to the Warren Police Department and the Michigan State Police.
Officers and troopers responded to a first floor room where they uncovered bottles of chemicals and other things used to make meth.
A hazmat team was also called to the scene. A number of renters had to be evacuated and placed in other rooms.
No one was hurt.
According to investigators, two men were arrested. The two men, 23-year-old Jeremy Copeland and 28-year-old Mark Ziglia Jr. faced arraignment on the crimes Tuesday.
Police think the two had been renting the motel room for a while and using it as a temporary meth lab.
