(WXYZ) - A local student from L'Anse Creuse Middle School East is getting some big props for re-enacting an amazing trick shot on the basketball court.
Halie Watkins is the 7th grader who pulled off the tumbling half-court shot. When she hit the incredible shot, her teammates the crowd went wild.
Watkins was copying the same trick shot made by a college cheerleader that went viral on YouTube .
"Random people are just walking up to me saying are you that one girl on YouTube? I say, yeah," says Halie Watkins.
"What I think is amazing is that she teaches herself. She's barely had any gymnastics training," says Halie's basketball coach, Kellee Roskopp.
Halie says she made that shot just that once, but her goal is to do it again.
If she doesn't, she still has a lot to smile about.
"I got it on record. I'm proud of myself," says Halie.
