MONROE, Mich. (WXYZ) - A veteran teacher and coach in Monroe County will not face criminal charges amid allegations of inappropriate contact with a student.
Prosecutors will not file criminal charges against a Jefferson Middle School teacher and coach who allegedly sent inappropriate text messages to a student while she attended the school.
The school district however, is still reviewing the case and may take administrative action. The teacher is currently on suspension.
The sheriff's department investigated allegations that the man sent inappropriate text messages to a student over a period of months.
People who know both parties tell 7 Action News that the teacher coached the girl when she was in middle school.
She's now in high school
7 Action News went to the teacher's home Where a person who answered the door had no comment.
