Monroe County psychiatrist charged with sexually assaulting a patient

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - A Monroe County psychiatrist is facing multiple felony charges, accused of sexually assaulting one of his patients.
Dr. Abdullahi Mohamed has been charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree and Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 4th Degree.
The 58-year-old Mohamed was arraigned on the charges Thursday. His bond has been set at $100,000 cash.
Police say they were called to Mercy Memorial Hospital to investigate a sexual assault complaint on May 12. When they arrived a 26-year-old woman told them she has been assaulted by her psychiatrist at his office on Stewart Road.
Dr. Mohamed was arrested after police investigated the allegations. He is a staff physician at Mercy Memorial Hospital.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Michigan State Police Monroe Post.
